Performances include original songs from Rob Tobias and The Northwest Express playing swing blues, reggae, and folk-pop.  The band includes Rob Tobias on vocals, keyboard, acoustic guitar and hamronica, Ralph Novak on guitar, Mike Hatgis on bass/vocals, and Sean Brennan on drums/vocals.  Guest performers such as the sisters Kriss (vocals, violin), Kathy (vocals, violin), and Linda Kantner (sax, flute) also play with the band.

Rob and Ralph team up to play as the Northwest Express duo, while the full Northwest Express band gives a full expression to the blues, jazz, and reggae sound (with horns).

Being a huge Beatle fan, Rob also put together and plays with Maya Love (Jeremy Wegner, Larry Lynch, Tim Miller and Sean Brennan) to play George Harrison and John Lennon Tributes.  Rob plays solo piano for special occasions and has written commisioned songs/music for film/video and special events.

Rob also uses his improvisation skills and has been known to make up songs on this spot as he does as part of his Singing Alive song circles, Playback Theatre performances and workshops.  Also, as one of the leaders of the Ad Olam Jewish Renewal group, Rob contributes songs and music to their events.
